To celebrate badass babes everywhere, and their rights, I designed a t-shirt with @theoutrageonline to benefit @plannedparenthood! 100% of the proceeds of this shirt go to the organization and will help them continue to serve millions of women, and men, every year.” As always, I’m so proud of Sophia!

Hello Sophia fans! For those interested in more information about the Talbots line Sophia models for Oprah Winfrey‘s magazine, I’m sharing an article by WWD about the collection. As they write in the introduction, “To date, the O-Talbots tie-up has raised more than $3 million in monetary contributions, collected 60,000 articles of clothing and subsequently helped to impact 60,000 women’s lives.” I love that Sophia support and participate in such great campaigns!

WWD | SUCCESS STORIES: Upping the stakes for its third collaboration with O, The Oprah Magazine to benefit Dress for Success, this time around Talbots will match cash donations up to $250,000.

This year’s launch date for O, The Oprah Magazine Collection for Talbots is Feb. 20 at retail and online. To help get the word out, the activist-leaning Connie Britton, Yvette Nicole Brown, Sophia Bush, Busy Philipps and Tanika Ray are on board as influencers. Talbots senior vice president of marketing Deb Cavanagh said, “We wanted to identify high-profile women of influence who truly cared about our cause and our mission.”

Supporters and shoppers have a few ways to get involved. Cash donations can be made in stores Feb. 20 through April 1. Talbots is also encouraging women to clean out their closets and will accept “nearly new” clothing and accessories in its 435 locations March 1 to 4. Consumers can also pitch in by purchasing items from the O, The Oprah Magazine Collection for Talbots collection. Thirty percent of net proceeds from those purchases will benefit Dress for Success, which helps women return to the workforce.

To date, the O-Talbots tie-up has raised more than $3 million in monetary contributions, collected 60,000 articles of clothing and subsequently helped to impact 60,000 women’s lives.

Cavanagh said, “Women have come together in an unprecedented way to stand beside each other and to stand for not just empowerment but ultimately supporting success. So this campaign really feels so well-timed to fit into the cultural focus and Oprah’s focus.”

The March issue of O magazine has two impact covers — one featuring Britton and the other with Brown and Bush. There is also a three-page spread touting the O, The Oprah Magazine Collection for Talbots. O’s creative director Adam Glassman said, “We wanted people who believed in Dress for Success and believed in our group mission between Talbots and Oprah even if they had their own affiliation with their own cause. We did this before the Time’s Up movement. Everything just felt like perfect timing actually.…The main thing is it’s feel-good product that brings joy into people’s life. By doing so, they’re helping other women.”

He approached the color palette and the concept with a buy-now-wear-now mentality that also transitions into spring and summer. Instead of more time-sensitive florals, there are red, white and blue styles including stripes, a touch of gingham, and a ladybug motif that “really reads like a polka dot,” Glassman said. “One day I was at Oprah’s house, sitting in one of her gardens and I started seeing all these ladybugs. I thought, ‘That’s a cute idea. They kind of look like polka dots.’ They are a symbol of hope and life and love — prosperity — and some cultures actually believe they’re about taking actions on your dreams. I thought how perfect is that for our connection for Dress for Success.”

For the annual style event and shopping party on March 3, Glassman and Gayle King will visit Talbots’ Madison Avenue store. The pair have a satellite media tour planned and are expected to appear on Rachael Ray’s show Feb. 13 to coincide with the March issue landing on newsstands. Revenue for the magazine brand is up 5.4 percent from January through the April issues and its audience has increased 5 percent in the past year, gaining nearly a half million readers for the magazine, according to a Hearst spokeswoman.

Talbots is also in growth mode. With its weeks-old stores in Palm Beach Gardens and Seal Beach up-and-running, the company is gearing up for June openings for stores in Preston Oaks, Tex., and Kenwood, Ohio. In the meantime, it’s true blue spirit can be found in the new collection. Cavanagh said, “The color palette, a deep navy, white and red, feels very appropriate this month going into the Olympics. And it’s just a really modern palette that you can wear with everything.”

And although Winfrey is “a fabulous woman who makes connections, speaks beautifully and understands the world, and really could have everyone’s arms come together from both sides, she’s not looking to be a politician,” Glassman said.

Sophia was among the stars to model the 2018 collection, featured in the March issue of the magazine, along with her close friend Connie Britton. We now have the very first behind the scenes photos from the set, photoshoot and magazine scans! Read more about the collection below, and head over to our gallery for the pictures.

Oprah.com | For a third year, O has collaborated with one of our favorite retailers to create cute clothes for a cause.

Connie Britton, Sophia Bush, Tanika Ray, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Busy Philipps were thrilled to get behind the charitable initiative (a portion of the proceeds goes to Dress for Success), and the photo shoot was a lovefest. “Their energy was infectious,” says O creative director Adam Glassman. “They’re super passionate about helping women.”

Hello Sophia fans! We have some exciting news today. Sophia is set to guest star in an episode of ABC’s upcoming comedy show Alex, Inc., as the well-known radio host Vanessa Stanhope! So far we don’t know much about the episode, but we’ll keep you updated on any new information. For now, you can read more about the show and her character below.

TV Guide | Sophia Bush has lined up her first post-Chicago P.D. TV role. TV Guide has learned that Bush will guest star on ABC’s upcoming workplace/family comedy Alex, Inc., which premieres March 28.

Bush will play Vanessa Stanhope, a well-known radio host who spars with Alex (Zach Braff), who left his radio job to start a podcasting company.

Bush left Chicago P.D. last year, reportedly due in part to her co-star Jason Beghe’s inappropriate behavior. Since then she’s appeared in a couple of movies and signed a deal with 20th Century Fox TV to develop content, which should hopefully be bearing fruit in the form of a pilot pickup soon.

Bush isn’t the only familiar face who’ll be appearing on Alex, Inc. — Veep’s Matt Walsh will also guest star. He’ll be playing Detective Phipps, who has valuable information about an unsolved case that’s been a thorn in the side for Rooni (Tiya Sircar), Alex’s attorney wife. Walsh is a guest star extraordinaire, having appeared on numerous comedy series, most recently on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, black-ish and Teachers.

Alex, Inc. premieres Wednesday, March 28 at 8:30/7:30c on ABC.

Hello Sophia fans! Our girl recently invested in a new business on Library Street in Detroit, “Detroit Blows“. A dollar from every service done at the salon is given to a group called Detroit Grown, which fuels female entrepreneurs. Some of that money also goes to alternatives for girls, a non-profit help for homeless girls and women. You can read more about it below, and watch Sophia describe the project herself in the video!

DETROIT (WJBK) – Sophia Bush is a popular actress last seen on Chicago PD – and now the star and activist is in Detroit to make a difference for women entrepreneurs.

You’re looking at what happens when big city pride meets big-time star power. “Detroit has big city pride and (it is great) to see so many wonderful entrepreneurs coming in and investing their dollars and pulling dollars back into the city,” said Bush.

Detroit Blows is a new business on Library Street, downtown. Makeup, nails and a blowout – you can get it done here. But it’s what you don’t see that’s amazing.

Sophia Bush decided to invest in it because of where every dollar goes. “Really figuring out how to do good for your community,” she said. “Not just because you should, but because you want to, is the way you energetically change things in business and also for yourself personally.”

Bush and co-founders of Detroit Blows, Katy Cockrel and Nia Batts, are happy to donate a dollar from every service to a group called Detroit Grown, which fuels female entrepreneurs. Some of that money going to alternatives for girls – a non-profit helping at risk and homeless girls and women.

Bush said she is happy to announce how two local women will benefit right away.

“They both want to look at cosmetology as a career path,” she said. “So the grant is going to make sure they can do that. They’ll also have opportunities here to shadow staff and really get hands on experience and learn, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Alternatives for Girls was going to get a $3,500 micro grant. Bedrock decided to match it, resulting in $7,000 helping that group. It’s a social enterprise. Business that’s about boosting the community it serves.

“Affording clients the opportunity to not only take care of themselves by coming here for a blowout or makeup or a beauty service,” said Cockrel. “But to be able to give back while they do that.”

Aside from being good friends, or as Sophia and Nia would tell you, sisters, having the former Chicago P.D. star on board has been a gift in many ways.

“She was the first person that stepped up and said this is a great idea let’s do it,” said Nia Batts. “I said I wanted to do it in Detroit first, because that’s home and she said, let’s do it. So to have someone who supports your dreams in this way is just a real blessing.”

Bush is proud to invest the blessing-supportive of the social consciousness here, but there’s more.

“There’s plenty of salons around, but what most people don’t know that there’s not one single one except Detroit Blows that’s fully non-toxic,” Bush said. “So we are thinking about how to give people what they want and positively impact the environment.”

Some really exciting news were just dropped; Sophia is set to voice a character in the upcoming sequel to Disney/Pixar‘s 2004 “Incredibles”! It was reveleaded on Disney’s official twitter account just a couple of hours ago, and you can read Deadline’s article about the news below. Stay tuned for more information soon!

Sophia Bush, Jonathan Banks and Isabella Rosselini have been added to the cast of Incredibles 2, Disney/Pixar’s sequel to the 2004 original. They join a voice cast that includes returning Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter and Samuel L. Jackson in the pic, which has been set for a June 15, 2018 release.

Bush will play Voyd, a young, overeager “wannabe” Super and a mega-fan of Elastigirl (Hunter). Her superpower is the ability to divert and manipulate objects around her by creating voids that allow the objects to appear and disappear, and shift in space. Banks is Rick Dicker, who heads up the official Super Relocation Program, helping the Parr family keep their Super identities secret. Rossellini plays a dignified foreign ambassador committed to the support and legalization of Superheroes.

Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener had already joined the announced cast for the movie, in which Elastigirl is in the spotlight, while Bob (vNelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home. A a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot that only the Incredibles can overcome together.

Brad Bird returns to direct. John Walker and Nicole Grindle are producing. Pixar unveiled character sketches of the main cast this morning.
